The GroupPac project is being developed in the Laboratório de Controle e Microinformática (LCMI), of the Departamento de Automação e Sistemas (DAS) of the Universidade Federal of Santa Catarina (UFSC)  in cooperation with the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Informática Aplicada (PPGIA) of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR). 

The project is based on the Fault Tolerant CORBA specifications from OMG.
